Prior to reaching the 5th station (trailhead) of the Fujinomiya trail, the group will stop at the Fuji Outdoor Office in Gotemba. You may leave any luggage there and pick it up at the end of the tour.
No, sleeping bags and/or blankets are provided at the mountain hut.
Unfortunately not! There is no running water on Mt Fuji!
Generally all of your expenses on Mt Fuji will be covered. If you would like additional snacks, food or water (as we are hiking you will work up an appetite and be thirsty) there will be opportunities for purchase at most mountain huts however, be prepared for high elevation prices (2-3 times sea level price). Additionally, the mountain huts will also offer souvenirs. The classic Mt Fuji souvenir is a wooden walking stick (¥1000-2000) which you can get stamped at each of the huts along the way to the summit (each stamp will cost ¥200-300).
Toilets on Mt Fuji will also cost ¥200-300 as there is no plumbing and the huts need to carry everything down!
With all this in mind, its a good idea to have ¥5000-10,000 in cash with you!
Climbing Mt Fuji is a difficult climb! Although not technical, it is all uphill with extreme volatility of weather so be sure to read our guide on preparing for your climb!
In order to give yourself the best chances for summiting, it is important to have all the right gear as well as making sure to be fit enough. Check out our guide on preparing for the climb here.
Yes! Fuji Outdoor offers rental equipment so you do not need to bring all of your hiking gear to Japan!
