    Trip Info:

    2-Day Mt. Fuji Sunrise Tour:

    2 Days, 1 Night

Day 1 Itinerary (Approximate Hiking Time: 5 Hours)

    • *06:30 AM: Shinjuku Meet- Up: Meet up and transfer to Gotemba to meet the rest of the group (available on select dates, transfer to Gotemba via private van is available at no additional cost)
    • 09:00 AM: Gotemba Station Meet-Up: Meet your expert guide at the Mt. Fuji Guides  Office, conveniently located outside Gotemba Station. Here, you can leave any unnecessary luggage and collect any rental equipment for your Mt. Fuji climb. *This option is always available, even on Shinjuku meet up dates.

    • 09:30 AM: Transfer to the Trailhead: 50-60 minute transfer to the starting point of your ascent of Mt. Fuji (Fujinomiya Trail).

    • 10:30 AM: Begin Your Mt. Fuji Hike: The climb commences! Our goal for the day is to ascend approximately 1300 meters (around 4265 feet), which typically takes around 5 hours of hiking. (Please note: Lunch is not provided on the mountain; we will take energizing breaks along the way).

    • 3:30 PM: Arrival at Mountain Hut: Your overnight accommodation is a mountain hut strategically located at an elevation of 3700 meters (approximately 12139 feet) – right on the crater rim of Mt. Fuji! Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a warm and satisfying curry dinner.

Important Note for Day 1: We will have an early bedtime tonight to prepare for our pre-dawn wake-up call for sunrise at the peak!

2-Day Itinerary (Approximate Descent Time: 3-4 Hours)

    • Early Morning Ascent for Sunrise: Day 2 begins in the pre-dawn hours as we start our final push to reach the Mt. Fuji summit in time for the breathtaking sunrise. We like to wake up about 60 min before heading out the door and breakfast will be served in the mountain hut dining area. The hike from the mountain hut to the summit of Mt. Fuji typically takes approximately 30- 40 minutes.

    • Explore the Mt. Fuji Summit: Upon reaching the highest point and weather permitting, the summit offers spectacular panoramic views and the option to walk around a portion of the volcanic crater (depending on weather and group energy levels).  Also there will be a chance to visit the Okumiya Shrine (where you can obtain a summit stamp), small gift shops, and even the unique Mt. Fuji Post Office to send a memorable postcard all located on the crater rim. Please note: Opening times for the Shrine and shops are subject to change.

    • Begin Your Descent: After celebrating your achievement at Japan's highest point and witnessing the sunrise, we will begin our descent down Mt. Fuji. While the descent time can vary based on trail conditions and pace, the average duration is around 4-5 hours.

    • Return to 5th Station (trailhead): The arrival time back at the trailhead will vary with the sunrise schedule throughout the season, but most groups typically return by around 10:00 AM on Day 2.

    • Transfer Back to Gotemba Station: From the trailhead, we will provide a transfer back to our office outside Gotemba Station, where the 2-Day Mt. Fuji Sunrise Tour concludes.

*From Gotemba station there are multiple easy transportation options to Tokyo, Hakone and other greater Mt Fuji areas by both bus and train.
