You can choose to get picked up at your hotel in central Tokyo or accommodation closer to Mt Fuji (Gotemba, Hakone, Yamanakano, Kawaguchiko, Mishima or Fuji City)!
Day 1 starts with an early morning pick up (usually around 0630 AM for central Tokyo)
We will then transfer via private van to the Fujinomiya Trailhead via Gotemba.
In Gotemba, we will make a pit stop for a last min opportunity to stock up on any supplies (snacks, water, etc) as well as a bathroom break and gear up (change, receive your rentals, if any) for the hike.
We will then continue for another 60 mins to the trailhead.
From around 1030AM the hiking starts and the goal for the day is to climb 1000 vertical meters which takes on average 5 hours.
The accommodation for the night is at an elevation of 3400m where we will enjoy a curry dinner upon arrival.
On Day 1 we need to make sure to go to sleep early as we will need to wake up in the middle of the night!
Day 2 starts in the middle of the night as we start our final push early to make the summit in time for sunrise.
The hike time to the summit on Day 2 will differ depending on the mountain hut we are able to secure.
Given pleasant weather, the summit features a Shrines (you can get our summit stamp here), other souvenirs, fantastic views for photos and the option of a walk around the crater (highly weather dependent).
After celebrating reaching Japan's highest point, our descent begins.
Though the descent time changes depending on the conditions, the average is around 4 hours.
On average, most groups will get back to the trailhead by around 10- 11AM on Day 2.
After getting back to the trailhead, we will make our way back to your accommodation in central Tokyo, Gotemba, Hakone, Odawara, Yamanakako or Kawaguchiko.
The drive time to Gotemba is around 1 hour and 2.5 hours to Central Tokyo.
